Malatbimmer.com, the cult is an alternative friendly community website, young, cool, fun and dedicated ambitious BMW community wishing to share experiences and knowledge amongst and with others. Our goal is unity and the need to establish a good driving environment and also communication between all BMW drivers.
Malatbimmer was established in central Kuala Lumpur in mid 2003 and it was started by six best friends who believed that contributing towards each other is the best way of making friends and at the same time sharing their favorite interest...BMW. Through ups and downs, suffering and happiness, now more than 300 BMW owners (Malats) have already signed up with Malatbimmer and pledged to be one of the greatest BMW communities ever. Malatbimmer.com is a non-profit BMW community and therefore registration as a member into this community is absolutely free! But there is some cost to bear in terms of website hosting, management and maintenance and since we solely survive on donations and contributions from members from as little as RM1.00 it is basically all up to your wallet. If you feel this community is worthwhile, why not contribute more, or you can sponsor us by organizing teh tarik sessions or lunches/dinners. It doesn't matter if you drive an old rusty beemer or the later/newer models, to us if you are driving a car with hood or boot badges that has a BMW roundel, you're just as Malat as we are and part of our brotherhood.
The meaning of Malat is basically an expression that is popular in our local Chinese community and one which is preached continuously. Malat symbolizes outlaws, a cult or even to some extent even gangsterism, a kind of always showing off their best attitude and also a group of people that always have fun, leading simple lives without a single cent in their pocket. It may sound bad to some, really bad...but once you know us, you will be surprised to know that we are traffic rule abiding beemer drivers, full of laughter and joy and one of the most supportive communities ever. Malatbimmer's seven officials are the spokesmen cum ambassadors for this community; they believe in the freedom of speech therefore they do not practice management committee ruling, so these officials are as neutral as all other fellow Malats.
Apart from being a member with this community, Malatbimmer offers benefits such as discounts to its members with a line of suppliers ranging from spare-parts new and used, workshops, upholstery refurbishing, air-condition troubleshooting and repair and even a hotel for our outstation members. Members can organize their own events and can even post their own classifieds and sell whatever they want from old pc's to used Playstation game sets. At Malatbimmer, we have also allocated a space for members to post pictures of their beemers in the gallery. Oh yes not forgetting! You get more exposure for business! Just post a write-up about your company and who knows, you might end up with a rewarding project.
