can you reason why did you re-tilt your engine angle and cut the engine bracket on the right with the shortening of the manifold ?

Engine bracket cut to cater for 10 degree difference between engine and m20 box. Shortening of the manifold cause mech scare it will hit brake master pump when its running. I don't really agree with their way of doing things though but so far their workmanship looks good enough for me.

okay, since you tilt it back to -10deg, how will you settle the starvation of the cylinder head without oil everytime you start up your engine..there will be non in the hydraulic lifters ? so no lubrication there...

funny these days the mechanics, they can re-event the wheel.....

Not really sure how the mech did it but the oilpan is levelled fine so its not tilted- 10deg.

Not sure what you are referring to but the engine is now tilted similar to stock e36. We'll see how it goes with jpj.

bro g0dspeed, I am located in Kuching where there are not many ppl who are expertise in bmw conversions. so far in kch other than mine currently going on, only xsjado has gone the m40-m42 way.

My case is quite different. i bought the engine without the ews module. second issue is with the wiring as the wiring loom was messy when it came (without the x20 connector). so im worried that maybe some wiring are not wired up properly.

so im now trying to resolve the problem between getting the right ecu to bypass ews and proper wiring connection. Need some input tho cos i was told that u can just use a non-ews (pre 94) to bypass the ews system. question is do u also need the non-ews wiring harness?

i have yet to bring to car for diagnostics as i currently have no time.sigh.

Why don't your mech try to build the harness from scratch? My mech did. For ecu pinout and electrical diagram you can refer to e36 bentley manual. I have the softcopy if you need it. Let me know if you need any bits from the wiring loom as I have plenty lying around.
