Hi guys, i've a pair of BBS RS 001 (if not mistaken, have to reconfirm again) and i would like to refurb it back to new. I went to my local tire shop (good friend of dad's) and asked for some quotes. The boss said that he's not doing the job instead he will send customers rim to Ipoh to do the refurb job.

The boss said that they will open up the studs on the rim and will polish the barrel to mirror finish while the "face" of the rim will be painted depending my choice of color.

I had few questions such as

1) After they have finish refurbishing the rims, will my rims suffer "imbalance"?

2) The boss said that they will GUARANTEE that the rims will not suffer any air leakage and he had sent few 2 piece rims to refurb and the customers are very happy with the result

3) I read in R3vlimited that the bolts are to be torqued to 40lb/ft(new bolts) and some people suggests that 18lb/ft is a more reasonable torque setting when re-using old bolts on BBS 3-piece wheels. Any ideas?

4) Lastly is regarding the price where he said that for the 3 piece BBS, its Rm100 per rim and RM35-50 for standard BBS basketweaves. (note: i dont have complete BBS RS).

The breakdown 2 BBS RS+ 3 BBS basketweaves= around RM350-RM400

what do you guys think? Thx you

Chris
