Dear All,
I just bought a 1989 325i E30 touring. Condition is good but not up to my standard yet. It has full Mtech2 bodykit, mtech front seats & steering and new paint job. There are still a little bit of issues like surface rust, old looking interior, old plastic & rubber bits, messy engine bay etc2. Paint job although new, it was not done properly....can still see the old paint at certain places.
Still, not much that needs to be done as the previoous owner has done a fair bit. But it must be completed before i can really enjoy the car, otherwise, it will be an eyesore. I too have a long list of all the part nos of the parts that I need to change, ordering them will not be a big issue. I plan to turn this car into almost a showroom condition car, given the rarity and the goodies it has
I have never embarked on this kinda project before. I would like to seek opinion/recommendation for the best place to do all this work. I wud prefer a one-stop shop that can do the following;
some spot welding work
stripping and painting, both body and exterior trims refurbishment
interior refurbishment i.e. seats, carpet, roof, door cards
engine bay refurb i.e. powder coating manifold, cam cover, ceramic coat header
If I cant do it at one place, recommendations for best places to do each of these jobs are fine too. I've been told based on the car current condition, I wont need more than 5k to do all these. But I'm willing to stretch the budget for better quality parts and workmanship
I will post the car pics once I got some feedbacks/inputs from you all. so, blurt it out boys, help the poor soul here

Bro, first of all congrats to you by owning a touring. Its really rare car indeed. Okay if you were told 5k to do all the jobs, ceramic coating for the header itself will cost you at least 2k.
You need to employ a person that will in charge of refurbishment (to run errants). So far that i know, Jeembo is the person. Perfectionist is all of us here. Anyway, care to post your actual photo of your car condition?

thanks for the quick reply. I do not need a person to project manage it. I rather do it myself...for own satisfaction since this thing is subjective. What's good to me may be to other people's liking & vice versa
The ceramic coating part is my gatal idea.....it's not necessary & i dun need to spend 2k just for that, so will scrap the idea. Thanks for the feedback

Hi stea2221, employ is just part suggestion lol and yes... to make it right, always have to do by yourself. Recommendation is a bit difficult/varieties coz every owners will always think their car is the perfect then the rest and you will end up 5 bodywork shop, 3 upholstery bla bla.. nanti kepala pun pening. One more thing, you need to spend money wisely lorr..
What i suggest, you can mixed up (meet-up) with tha group and check how is their bodywork, painting, upholstery etc. from there you can gather more information regarding your likings. I am sure they will help you with more details.
As what i say, my car is the perfect one for ME hehehehhehe....
cheers!

spot on bro, I just spoke to a guy who restored his 2002 and E24 at AMG PJ. Although he's happy, he wont recommend the place simply because he doesn't know my requirement.
Thanks for your thoughts....i guess i just do my research summore and decide later
