Frens,
Would like to ask. Where can I fix the E30 clutch Fan to Electric Fan conversion? Please recommend a place that know how to do it. Directions & contacts would be GREAT! Please PM or reply here. My regular mech seems not very sure.

Btw, I've found a guide from the net, but its fer the E34. M40 its quite diff. If anyone can tell me what socket / wiring do I need, then maybe I can guide my mech to do it.

Thank you in advance =)

Just to share a testimonial from someone who had done this conversion. He posted his testimonial in a forum years ago. Now I dig it out ;

The main benefits that I have found so far after installing the electric fan:

1) Smoother running engine(less load on the main pulley)

2) Acceleration in lighter, smoother and much, much more responsive!(Major improvement on low-end torque)

3) Quiet and vibration free engine at cruising speeds above 120km/h

4) Better fuel consumption (15ltrs=78km)now vs. (15ltrs=128km)before

Overall, I am convinced that this is the best mod I have done to my ride so far......it really adds a great degree of refinement to the UDM experience! The improvement in power was always welcome but the noise and vibration elimination was the icing on the cake!

Bro, how much exactly do you think the conversion will cost?

1. electric fans - from which car?
2. temperature switch
3. wire...relays?

please take some pix while doing the conversion. i'm interested to find out:)

Bro, I've been thinking to do these since 3 years ago! Since I didn't really SEARCH fer the fan, I just let it be my 'next' mod, until I found 1 good condition electric fan =). Btw, this conversion can only be done for M40 ya. M20 cannot due to the cramp space between the rad.

i read somewhere that if you use E36 fan, can use the E36 temp switch as well.

I also heard some ppl use W124 fan.

I stand corrected
