Twisted Evil Hi bro's, I bring a mind numbing issue that has kept me sleepless for the last 5 days.

My good friend has recently insisted that I take his e30 for peanuts as he 'feels' that i can take really good care of his current ride.

Now, I dont wanna be ungrateful or something but honestly, his car is not in a fan-freaking-tastic condition to say. body has some rust, engine (has done the conga beat) and it's been lying around for quite sometime but here's the consolation, roadtax still jalan.

My dilemma, if i dont take it, it looks like i dont reasure our friendship but if i do, it's probably gonna chew my ass off. So, any idicative suggestion of what i can do to lessen the potential burden that may cost me?

I'm thinking of replacing stock motors with an rb25 id this possible and how much do you think it will cost me with w/manship? what else do you think will cost me in the process of doing this entire machine up bro?

Really need your sifu-ness on this.

To my main concern is whether you're into E30 or not lah...

Wokey, this is my part of suggestion.
If its a peanut to you, i guess just take it and have your own sweet time to fix it. I reckon the car is still under running condition, therefore have some minor repair like bushing, belts and stuff and have it as 'running' car. Once budget permits, then send it for major restoration.

E30 for me is a must because E30 is a breakthrough model evermade by BMW. Less electronics and easy to maintain compare with latter model, not happy with the engine? swap with M42 or M50 or even motronic conversion.

RB20... are you sure? because once mod, you cant turn back. heheheheh

I can't advise you running RB20 because me dont know much lorrrr... it is just a matter whether the engine can last or not.

There is some members here that runs RB20..perhaps they can advice you....

cheers!

Hi bro highwaystar,

Thanks for your reply i really appreciate it.

As usual, an e30 has always been a favourite to many of us. I still remember the JPS version of it so vividly & clear in my head. It WAS and STILL is my favourite. and so, the project is to get it up to par with a JPS version la.

Peanuts is betul betul peanut price bro (harga to me 2k! but he doesn't want to sell outside his friends circle),as he has no interest or time to manage. Plus he even said i can take 1st and pay whenever i want 100 a month pun he ok so long he doesn't see it suffer in his hands so to speak.(what a fantastic friend I have - I love him even more!) like my past projects, i always believe in originality hence my past project which i did, my mini austin 1000 converted to 1.3i MPI auto fully restored and painfully did it for 8 months non stop with all 100% rebuild & ori. I love it so much.

For the e30, i'm worried bout engine part availabilty & reliability but since you've mention that they seem to be readly available, i guess i can still stick to originality la bro. If this takes off (god willing) I'll be hosting a session of "Bersanding" to all malatians between the collection of the car to the body panel guy! amacam? sounds good? I attach my mini car for your viewing.Any comments?

awesome mini you got there, i think you know our friend named saintdastar... he oso got red mini like yours if i'm not mistaken its a Austin mini cooper (frankly speaking i dunno the difference between Austin mini and mini clubman).

2k? thats peanuts like hell... grab it man. (if i were you.... convert for a track car and name the car after your good friend)...

good luck!

Hi bro rzonealley,

But the theme is still the JPS version la....i cant stop drooling over it.
