| ok bro its like this. this is what you should do. Firstly go to a workshop and jack your car up. check 1). Front control arms inner and outer balljoints. While doing that check the arms to see if they are bent. e30 balljoints are not easily removed from the control arms as you will need an industrial press to get them out. workmanship to do this is sometimes expensive just to change balljoints which cost around 50 bucks so it makes sense to buy new arms which cost less than 200 bucks apeice. BUT if they are ok proceed to 2)Control arm bushes. These bushes wear out bloody fast and are a major contributor to tramlining which is the loss of control when your car follows the contours of the road. These cost about 70 bucks apeice or less. BUT if they are ok proceed to 3) Front anti roll bar bushes and antiroll bar link bushes. These are dirt cheap to change. As for the back check the antiroll bar bushes and link bushes followed by the trailing arm bushes and rear subframe bushes. If your car is not handling well the best bet would be to change them all. i changed them all for my e30 and it cost me about rm 700 for all bushes. if you have the cash then change to Superpro PU bushes which cost double the price at RM 1500. On a visual inspection if the bushes are ok and your mechanic says so then it would be your absorbers that are gone. Also if you are using standard springs it could be that the springs are knackered and need to be replaced. it is after all 20+ years old and lets face it springs were not designed to last that long. So what are you STILL reading this for....!!! Get your car on a hydraulic jack and with a good mechanic go through all items as listed above and change the necessary to rectify your bad handling car. Don't play with your life bro........ |
