#1: [WTA]OBC from the US Author: fuzzysham PostPosted: Sun Jan 10, 2010 11:37 pm

hi sifus, am interested in fitting an OBC on my e30.

first thing first, is it even worth the hassle of hunting for it, buying it, then trying to get it to work fully?

second would be, i see the US OBC have different buttons compared to the ones i used to see ppl selling. will the 'malaysia boleh' statement pull off wit this? or its just not the same thing?

third and last, how much should its value be? its getting harder to find one..searched for it but the ones i found are all years back..

kindly advise.

i still havent gotten answer to my question of whether r there any difference among the OBC units that are taken from e30s in different parts of the world?

2.7 still L-Jet kan? mmm but no harm done to try, since tha data was from the meter cluster. (but meter cluster to ECU..mmmmm) try try lah

I guess theres nothing wrong to use your OBC, the diff maybe calculation/calibration between mileage and kilometer jer (logically speaking)
temperature reading either Celsius or Degrees etc

Maybe he could share some info, wait a minute... the car came with OBC or he bought OBC and install, is it working or just for display? like i said, since it was connect through Meter cluster, it might work.

Some specs not only OBC it also have Auto cruising, reverse sensor, headlamp adjustable, headlamp wiper, LSD differential.. this is a special request/order when you bought your car new.

to answer everyones questions, the obc can be fitted to all e30 models, only thing the fuel comsumption will not be accurate unless the obc was taken from a 325i and fitted to the same model..but this can be done by buying the coding plug to suit the engine model..
