From gearbox to your shift knob, heat will have to travel through many rubber bushings, metal linkages and etc.

The only time a solid metal knob will get too hot I think is if you left your car parked in the sun and the knob is in direct sunlight. Very Happy

Interior lights brand new can be obtained from either Innerpower or Bavarian Auto... about RM 100++
