bought myself a box of Stinger Roadkill sound/noise insulation pad,

comes in a box with 9pcs of Expert 18”x32” = 36sq.ft.

this is what's written on reviews/the site.

RKX36B

"The technology behind all RoadKill materials is a direct result of noise control products developed for the aerospace and aircraft industries. RoadKill products exhibit the highest sound damping properties available with the added benefit of the lightest weight per square foot. This is accomplished by arresting the vibration energy in the vehicle’s body panels that would normally be converted into sound and therefore converting it into miniscule amounts of heat. By lowering a vehicle’s noise floor and reducing body panel flex, Stinger RoadKill gives the sound system more dynamic range and higher SPL."

- applied the pads on the whole tranmission tunnel hump, driver/passenger side (front to the rear seats), rear seating floor, sparewheel well, rear wheel arches & some leftovers under the boot lid.
simple to put the pads on , just peel off the back n stick n press onto the body, no heatgun needed. as time go by , the pad will adhere itself more onto the body panel.

I started the whole process @ 10am ended 2am ..the same day (only got 1 day leave from work.) wat to do , 1 man job .. Sad
felt like i ran a 50km marathon after.

removed all oem insulation , which took quite a while since the old insulation melted n bonded with the body using a metal scraper.

after removing all the old insulation , another round of vacuuming to ensure surface is clean n dry.

whole floorboard is then sprayed antirust primer , just to be safe.

while waiting for the floorboard to dry,
mtech seats taken out , washed/dried.
carpets washed & scotch guarded.
rear seats washed/scotch guarded .
all vacuumed.

after all the stinger pads are applied, reverse process of putting the carpets/rearseats/front seats/centreconsole. and you're all done ,
only in 16hrs . Rolling Eyes

next project,
will need to soundproof the door with stinger roadkill pad , 1 pad each door with some kind of door covering liner to ensure maximum vibration/sound dampening. coming soooonn Twisted Evil

HERE'S A SIMPLE PHOTOSET of MY LONGEST DAY ever with the car.
pls excuse the bigsized photos.

the rest of the photos are here, not to clog up too much loading time on this post ,

damage , the whole box u can find in zerotohundred for rm750 .
they dont usually sell if in one box,
accessory shops if they carry the brand, they'll quote you rm100 per piece.

weight of the kit .. is roughly less than 3-4kgs.

one box can cover your whole car ..not including doors/headliner.

if you gotta do it , do it right once and for all.

Wink

just a shot at reducing vibration ..
the whole kit in a box is very light . more than those foam/pads out in the market.

my original e30 carpet foam is all scraped out b4 coz of water discovered during rustproofing not so long ago.

new carpets will go custom made , will also add in Stinger's Carpet Liner to go over the current stinger roadkill pads.

all in the quest for ICE perfection Razz
