i dont think there's any difference, havent come across anyone saying that absorbers are differnt from each other. only the front strut housing diameter got difference, 49mm and 52mm if im not mistaken.

for the 4.10. Its for 318i, if your car is 320i above, should be 3.91 and below. I stand corrected. By using higher ratio such as 4.10, during highway cruising, your rpm will be higher, if u change it to 3.73, the rpm would be lower.

3,73 have better top speed but acceleration will be affected by a bit
4.10 have better acceleration but top speed will be affected by a bit as well

usually 4.10 and above are for auto cars.

m20 diff and m40 diff can be interchange, no problems at all.

bro, i think i have a symptom here which i think may related to ICV....(sori off topic a bit)

my ride when at idle, the engine will 'tremble' a little bit at random (not often, sometimes oni) and during it trembles, u wil see the rpm drop a bit then rise up again....

if early mrg when i start the engine (or shall i say while the engine is still cool), i will rev the engine a bit then when i release the paddle, the rpm will also drop a bit low follows by 'trembling' then goes up again to normal rpm....

does that signal faulty ICV?

Maybe ur timing is too low. Get it to adjust at ur mech. If u r in doubt, can always go to FD Jaya at Old Klang Road. Mr Ooi is the man to look for. Sometimes ur AFM. It needs service. Btw, I've never ram my engine in the morning. Start the car and drive slowly fer few mins. The engine will hot in no time =)
