#1: fed up la Author: chriseunos, Posted: Fri Dec 21, 2007 6:54 pm ---- My car during day time will not let me rev high and it will misfire at high rpm. Im really fed up already. Using the diagnosis machine, 3 problems popped up, fuel pump relay, O2 sensor and idle actuator. 2 of the problems are expensive and i really dont have that much money to fix it.
Just changed the engine recently due to broken crankshaft and now all these problems. Aiihhh...Im really fed up with the car. Sorry, just wanna express out my feeling.

#5: Re: fed up la Author: xsjado, Posted: Sat Dec 22, 2007 10:13 am ---- sabar...took me six months to work our my mechanical and electrical glemlins during my engine swap!it will all be worth it!trust me.
#6: Re: fed up la Author: chriseunos, Posted: Sat Dec 22, 2007 11:57 am ---- i found any symptom. Whenever i start to rev high, the temperature indicator will slowly drop to the blueish area. Bear in mind my meter is an M40 meter, therefore the temp gauge and the tachometer keeps on flickers. If i press any further, the car will misfire. Now there's another new problem. After misfire, my car will run like shit.
When i press the accelerator, its like not enough fuel to the engine. Once i stop the car at the side. It seems like the engine is running on 4 cyclinder. Uneven rattling of the engine. I turned off the engine. The engine is fine again until the next misfire.
Helppppp
Chris
#7: Re: fed up la Author: xsjado, Posted: Sat Dec 22, 2007 7:33 pm ---- m40 meter means its calibrated for 4 cylinder tacho reading...flickering may mean that you have grounding and contact issues on you cluster...as for the misfire...DME issues.try someone elses DME...maybe you can trace from there.
#8: Re: fed up la Author: chriseunos, Posted: Sun Dec 23, 2007 12:01 am ---- DME as in ECU? oh god
#9: Re: fed up la Author: Mr_Bimmerasta, Location: The Republic Of PenangPosted: Sun Dec 23, 2007 6:10 pm ---- Don't fed up bro,bwk sabar byk2....bkn sng nk maintain keta lama like e30, walau apa pn problem comes to us it's tetap our proud car!! #10: Re: fed up la Author: chriseunos, Posted: Mon Dec 24, 2007 11:42 am ---- Problems solved! Misfiring gone!! THe muthafu*ka pulled like a train!
problem? Apparently the socket running underneath the engine manifold is having some difficulty in connection due to particles such as dust, dirt etc etc. I was inspecting the engine last night and wiggled the wires, suddenly the engine just died off. No problem in starting up the car, then wiggled again, the engine almost died.
Today, went to workshop and borrow contact cleaner, sprayed to the socket and other connectors as well, ICV, AFM, brown socket..whatever la! start the car and took it for a test run, ITS ALIVE ITS ALIVE!! I CAN REV WITHOUT MISFIRING!!

#12: Re: fed up la Author: aRRrgghh, Location: KeranaMu MalaysiaPosted: Mon Dec 24, 2007 4:51 pm ---- hah good fer u mate! ... that's why, sometimes it's just lil' thing we just missed out. Chritsmas joy fer u bro =)
#13: Re: fed up la Author: chriseunos, Posted: Mon Dec 24, 2007 9:36 pm ---- not for long bro, although the car now can rev freely, after hard rev, the car is like having fuel starvation, if i let the car idle, the car wants to die off, if i press the throttle, its like slowly going up and misfires. I suspect is the wires on the switch that are bad or corroded...aiyoh...
#14: Re: fed up la Author: chriseunos, Posted: Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:16 pm ---- damn mechanic, busy talking!!

Dont care la!!! Do myself!!
why la why always got problem...
#15: Re: fed up la Author: aRRrgghh, Location: KeranaMu MalaysiaPosted: Tue Dec 25, 2007 4:44 pm ---- err.. where's is that la bro? IMHO, u should fix the basic problems first i.e. leaking / harden hose etc. Replace the normal wear & tear. And after that you can slowly diagnose for actual prob.
I saw u holding the AFM. Try to move the 'flap' inside it. If it's a lil' bit hard or not smooth to move, then that's one of ur problem. You can also try to 'de-carb' the engine. Who knows the carbon has clogged in there.
You don't like the shop? Ask me or Highwaystar. We try to help u out. Good luck =)
