hi guys,

has anybody seen or heard bout this kind of mod before?
i have a basically scrapped e21, thought of putting in an RB26.
give your feedback please.
also, how is the handling of the e21?never driven 1 so not sure.
now at concept stage only so ur advise will be much appreciated
Thanks
This is a completely non recommended mod. Couple of reasons.
1. RB 26 engine a bit too big for e 21 bay. If you plan to maintain balance then you will have to cut the firewall and have cylinders 5 and 6 sitting inside the dashboard. If you plan to not cut the cars firewall and have the engine sitting in the bay there will be no handling as balance all lost becos no more 50/ 50 configuration, plus radiator fan will be an issue as clutch fan for rb 26 cannot use and circuit fan no place to install. Plus BMW brake master pump too wide to use plus skyline master pump too thick.
2. Condition of car. E 21 not designed to handle 280hp. Even 30 years ago when the car was new there was no such engine mods to push horsepower to such levels. It is simply to risky to put such power into a chassis that 30 years down the line cannot surely take it.
3. JPJ approval. Guaranteed fail. Unless kao kao bribe the guys. *Am i allowed to say this online?*

My two cents worth.
Install a CA 18 turbo from a 180sx into the E 21. halfcut damn cheap def less than 2K. if you want slightly more power than the claimed 180hp change turbine to a bigger one. For your peace of mind do this mod instead. For further clarification come to the 2T session this Friday and i will explain everything fully then.

Hope this helps.
