Hello guys, just want to know, how many of you conqure Mount Kinabalu.

I'm gonna be there next year maybe mid april. Now i am attending extensive training to built up my stamina and confidence.

maybe end 2008, i'm heading for Kathmandu Everest Base Camp... peerrrgghhh..... syok wei climbing nih... wanna join?

tapi kena guna celcom kita 3g kan semua kat puncak.

Wa bro sejak bila pulak minat mendaki gunung nie? Hobi yang telah agak lama ku tinggalkan. Walau bagaimanapun last year ada gak sampai ke puncak gunung Tahan. Dah lama bercita-cita nak sampai ke kemuncak gunung kinabalu ni. Harap2 dapat join you next year.

Aku pun penah panjat gunung tau....lokasinya di Langkawi iaitu Gunung Mat Cincang... Very Happy

mmg mencabar beb,mula2 kena panjat tangga untuk beli tiket pastu terus naik keta cable,fuh... Confused

gayat taktau nak habaq la...keta cable tu terpacak 60darjah ke atas...pastu terhoyong hayang plak ditiup angin...kecut perut aku....hehehehehehe... Wink

I have been there twice. There are two routes to the top. The Timpohon is shorter, more challenging. The mesilau route is longer, but better view for photographer. Bring energy bar such as peanuts and raisins. Try avoid too much of chocalate bars as is heating for your body.

journey starts from the base camp at around 0900 hrs. Buy a walking stick at the entrance, only RM3. It will help your long hours climbing. Reached Laban rata approx after 5 to 7 hours climb. You will have a potter to offer you to carry your additional lugauge. It is around RM 7 per KG. You will go through 7 rest stations from the base camp to Laban rata. Do not rest more thatn 8 minutes at each of the rest area as your muscle will become inactive and might affect the rest of the journey. NO CIGARRETE PLS! Mad

Have a good rest the moment you reach laban rata.TRY THE NASI GORENG AT ITS CANTEEN. sLURPP..! Dont be surprise if you find some oversize insects and tikus. They are healthy and not harmful. It will be usually around 2 to 5 degree at 100km/hr wind weather. The jouney to LOWs peak starts the next day 0230hrs. Get a head lamp because is gonna be dark and for your easy climbing. Stick together with the group. Do not force to climb if you feel dizzy caused by thin oxygen level. Just follow the white string marker to lead you safe to the top.

You will decend the same day you reach the top. By then, is best to lepak at the town centre looking for some good food as your leg muscles will not co-operate with you anymore.( Get some muscle ache relief lotion).Well, hope it helps. If we respect the mountain, the mountain will do the same to us. Enjoy the climb.

judging from your statement, it drove me more to be in Kinabalu. This must be exciting!

I will be going together with adidas team and there is 8 of us. have to get 2 more (1 guide for 10ppl). anyone? syok nih!

Got to know BMW Malacca will be there mid april. mine schedule end April. best best!!!!

yarlorr tombstone, that is ONE PANTANG thing that i never do. Pick up, please put back at the same place. Furthermore, i've seen so many strange things happened in tha jugle that you cannot believe your eyes.

No matter if you found diamond karr or fresh jungle fruit karr (buah kuini or bacang and sometimes mango). If you want to eat, eat at the same place and ask permission first. Batu sungai oso JANGAN BAWA BALIK.

errmmm, have any one of you sight White Peacock that look like Pheonix? ahhaaaa... i've seen it, its about 5ft long (head to tail) at 3 in the morning at 800 metres above sea level in Gunung Belumut near 'Crown Rock'.

tapi shahril naik gunung memang best... cheap hobby (you need powerbar, lots of cloud9 and maggi mee also glukose drink) and ofcourse garam (to avoid pacat. mmmm also bring kain kapan too...

as for experience in climbing yes... kain kapan is part of the standard equipment. Guide to kinabalu memang ada, cost around RM500 to RM600 for 10 climbers if more than 10 have to get 2 guide. Potter lain kira. Somehow, most tourist agencies included already (with makan). will check around for new package price.

Aik tak kan Gunung Datok surrender. Saya tak pernah daki gunung nuang tapi gunung datok dah beberapa kali daki dah. Kalau nak daki nanti calling2 lah. Kena masa yang sesuai dan tiada komitmen boleh saya join

gunung datok saya surrender sebab takde benda nak tengok lorr... mencongak 45 degree. aleh sampai atas batu besar ada spray 'iwan was here lahh' 'aku cinta padamu lahh' dan grafitti lain. rasa dicemar lorr...

gunung nuang i can call it happening. trek flat and also uphill. water source 80meter from peak. ada lumut, ada kering dan ada berembun.
different sea level diff climate. itu yang best tuh...hehehehe
