Ok im a noob here and the e46 M3 is my first BMW.

Ive discovered the gear change is not smooth when changing gear jerking a bit...maybe the longshaft rubber? or sumthin else?

Also when i make a u turn, there is a clunk sound when i turn the steering? what could be the problem?

I try to look underneath the car but its all covered up and i cannot see anythin unusual...i tried to call costa conti and he said to me better to post it here as all of the expert can help diagnose the car?

Or maybe im being too worried?

My wiper work but there is no water coming out from the jet? maybe the motor perhaps...???

And my last question is can i upgrade the On board computer to the 16:9 from a newer M3? do it needs some modification or can just plug n play?

OK that's a long list of problems u're having now .. I'm not the expert but before concluding any serious problems, start with a basic check - have you been sending for regular service / checks?

Basic check already done, ive taken the headlights out and test the wiper washer motor and it didnt work...need to replace it.

Some people says it is normal sound due to the lsd...but whats been bothering me is the shifting...feel a bit clunky...is there any bushing for the tranny? it is different comparing to japanese car and i dont want to be clever by taking it all out...wish im in malaysia...send the car to mechanics, here the labour charge is very2 expensive.

Well I can help for these parts la..
1.Ive discovered the gear change is not smooth when changing gear jerking a bit...maybe the longshaft rubber? or sumthin else?

Ans: Service Your Gearbox Oil... If you're using SMG1 or 2... Try changing your Gear oil and LSD gear oil.... If that don't work... Well you're talking about he Hydraulic pump bro... Get it check...
Other Than That... I think should not be a problem... but the rest is just bushing...

2.Also when i make a u turn, there is a clunk sound when i turn the steering? what could be the problem?

ANS: Wel 1stly... Check your power steering pump fluid level...
See whether it's low or or just nice...
2ndly... check whether your fluid is clean or messed up... So get it check... or else you're talking overhauling or changing your power steering pump and servicing your Hydraulic Power Steering Pump...

Hope I've help you in your technical works... Anything just pm me...

Alex...

My car is stickshift...sorry didnt mention it earlier.

Power steering is all ok....no leak whatsoever

I think maybe the bushing of the gear linkage or some part of tranny correct me if im wrong...i have a strong feeling that there is a wear on rubber parts and didnt know which one...my brother citroen also has a same problem but after repair it shift much more smoothly...i didnt know what the mechanics change.

Gearbox oil how to check? sorry for asking a stupid question but this is my first RWD car so i dont have much a knowledge bout it.

My father advice me to change to a SSK and replaced the bushing and rubber parts much more easy, but i dont want to waste on things that shouldnt be changed...anyone know what brand is suitable for my ride?
