If anyone can assist my queries, am planning to change the belting of my m40 and would like to get more information on the price and also labour charges if possible.

2. timing belt bearing
3. fan belt or air cond belt

Beside the belt also need to change the pads and also the bushes.

the timing belt set (belt and tensioner/bearing) should be around 60 bucks. add another 40 or so for the other belt. labour should be about 70 to 90.

all 4 pads will run you just over 200.

there's a recent thread that discussed all the types of bushings that one can replace. do a search man

i recalled the belt a lone will cost RM45-50 wor??? unless I became another victim of the slaughter house la....

my case would be the same as AERO where the belt kit consists of belt, tensioner, 3 rings + an oil filters = RM300 +- lor....

My prices last time for M40:

Original BMW timing belt - RM210 (better quality than the OEM Contitech one which is RM70, up to you to decide if you want to get it)
Small bearing - RM50
Big bearing - RM55
Tensioner - RM100
Aircond belt - RM25
Power steering belt - RM22
Alternator belt - RM22

The 3 aux belts were Contitech brand. All prices from First Div, except for the tensioner, that one got through my mechanic, so dunno how much he added on for himself there.

I'm sorry guys, I assumed that the m40 parts would be similar to the m20 one that I'm using. I apologise if I've mislead anyone.

Go with nick, he's the guru for all things m40 : )
