would like to get some opinions on this. for a set of rims 16x7.5 et 25? how would it sit and perform on a older m20 body with the following tyres -

front - 205/50/16
rear - 225/45/16

I believe Calvin Tan runs that tyre setup on his e30.

anyone care to weigh in on the pros and cons?

I'm running 205/45/16 all round on my 16x7.5 ET20. No idea what pros and cons you want though. Laughing

I suppose wider tires = looks nice + better dry grip, but also scarier in the wet and more road noise + more expensive.

just wondering about rubbing as well. I think 225 is the max one can go before having to roll your fenders.

Don't forget that the lower you go, the more likely for fender rubbing too.

Last time with 205/50/16 on my fronts, my tire at full lock is about 2mm away from the front plastic liner only. Laughing

Nick, true that.

I'm also wondering if with 50 in front and 45 in the back, the car will look goofy

205/50 = 102.5mm sidewall
225/45 = 101.3mm sidewall

So the rear diameter will be 2.4mm smaller than front. I doubt you can notice such a difference without measuring. Laughing
