I am driving a e30 316i manual

Can the sifus here advise if it will improve acceleration if I swap the exhaust (mid to end portion) with that of a e30 320?

An exhaust shop boss say can improve...

for 316 u have to change ur rear diff ..to have better acceleration ,
changing to another bigger exhaust will just underpower ur car ..not enough air going out .

So I shd change the stock rear diff to another ratio?

what is the best ratio and what is the price like - anyone selling?

Okay here are the breakdown
Diff - +-500 (if you want R&D should be atleast 3 sets of diff)
Exhaust syetem -+ 800 (you ended up go back and forth to make it your perfection... again the boss say "if you dont like the setting i can make more pick-up")
Then after that, another boss said change fuel regulator/injector/silicon copper plug wire set/spark plug or another "brother accessories shop" suggestion. +- 1k

Total spend aroun +- 2.3k already... still 316.
Then when you drive - next to you is 2.0 or 1.8 you think you can overtake them?.

Source for halfcut with geran, it only cost you 2k - 3k for 2.0 or 2.5 motronic 6 pot engine. then you can fly!

I in Singapore - so engine swap is illegal and maybe swap to M401.8L is not noticeable in annual inspection - so halfcut cannot leh..

aiseh.. now i know. Wokey, change diff then. BUT sourcing diff for 316 can find meh in singapore? annual checking in singapore tak buleh buat apa. they will notice also. UNLESS, rebore to 1.8. Buy engine kosong, use back your existing block but plant in 1.8 pistons, camshaft etc. You'll have 1.6 block inside 1.8 woohhooo. Then when they do the checking, everything seems to be normal. Tapi if they use diagnose engine capacity you mesti kena...mmmm good luck.

Errr... can advise wat diff can use for 316? I thot so long as e30 diff can swap already? heehee

If change to M401.8L + ECU+ AFM etc - will FC worsen a lot or will improve since car weight same but now got more power?

to be honest, its not worth to play the 316 at all. My advice to you is to do up the suspension and the chassis, bodykit blah blah....u'll be happier.
