looking for a 2nd hand SLR camera for beginners. i want to start learning photography. anyone know anyone selling theirs? just need a simple one to start off with. any recommendations?

SLR or dSLR? dSLR is cheaper nowadays. Brand new as low as RM1.4k. Any particular brand u re looking at?

yea digital slr. i found out tat slr is using film. sorry.. i just got sudden interest to learn photography. a lot of my frens recommend canon or nikon. i guess tats up to taste? i just wan a good deal until i learn something.

i wud strongly suggest u start with entry level but brand new system. The EOS 1000D or D60 are good enuff if u r a beginner. At least u'll get 1-yr warranty. Buying used is subject to many2 issues which cud be a major turn off for a starter..

Just want to ask, among all brands of camera in the market such as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus and etc... which brand and model is the best for beginners other than the Canon EOS 1000D or D60 like bro stea2221 said? A friend of mine who studied in photography course said Nikon was the best but he didn't mention which model. Thanks.

to me the camera is just a tool , tak kisah la pakai brand ape , as long u know what u want in a shot/photo .

most importantly do the best with what ur budget will allow .

so frens who do photography says it depends on individual preference. some will say nikon, some canon.. just like car la, people like different things.

stea2221 - my budget is a bit low and knowing that it cost a bomb. tats y im searching for a 2nd one. well if i can find one then i have to save up to solve the problem. =)

check the forum below, once a while there'll be a good deal on used system. But again, buying used is risky unless the warranty is still valid. Let me share my story, i bought a DSLR new and that thing failed me after 2 weeks...system error, i got a replacement with no question ask. imagine if u dun have warranty
