for the 4.10. Its for 318i, if your car is 320i above, should be 3.91 and below. I stand corrected. By using higher ratio such as 4.10, during highway cruising, your rpm will be higher, if u change it to 3.73, the rpm would be lower.

3,73 have better top speed but acceleration will be affected by a bit
4.10 have better acceleration but top speed will be affected by a bit as well

usually 4.10 and above are for auto cars.

m20 diff and m40 diff can be interchange, no problems at all.

ICV = Idling Control Valve, and it's in a T shape and also to control the idling hehe =)
