Mintak tolong sifus2 sekalian,
I just bought an E30 just before raya. The problem is I tak tau history of the car, so plan nak wat preventive maintenance into the car mcm check timing belt ker, radiator , tukar minyak itam dan dll.

So I nak tanyer... agak2 baper total cost kalo nak tukar timing belt termasuk belt2 yg lain.? (As I know, E30 guna belt, x guna chain..betul ker?)

any recommended workshop?..kalo buleh area Puchong/Seremban/Nilai....

very cheap like hell bro! cheaper than proton. i've changed all my beltings but forgot the price but trust me its dirt cheap. timing belt alone below rm80, bought at Innerpower jln ipoh last June. i bought beltings, a pair of hub bearings, longshaft coupling, gearbox seals, door handle bezel, door card clips everything under RM600.

Okay, if you just got your car, always change timing belt and it is compulsory. Words from the seller kadang2 buleh pakai tapi tak banyak buleh pakai.

Timing belt cost RM70, to do that you also must change oil seal and bla2... bukan apa..since dah bukak.. might aswell change the rest. this to jimat workmanship. last i done around RM680 this include

Timing belt
Aircond belt
Power steering belt
Alternator belt
Oil seal
timing bearings
and workmanship

To change all the parts, I need to order first the parts or just can walk-in into workshop and then they can get the parts immediately?

One more thing, how much the cost for speed sensor? My odometer is not functioning. Assume that the speed sensor is 'out' already...


p/s....I'm still dont know where should I go to do the maintenance....worry if I go the wrong workshop.

it is best for you to buy the 'barang' yourself, some workshop they mark-up 20% to 30% of part price reasoning, they willing to give warranty. What i think that is bulls..t, most of parts got defects 2/100 and most parts supplier gave their inhouse warranty.

as for your speedometer, are you sure that the sensor is out? i suggest get complete set and test first before buy. average price is RM300

I'm goin to change my timing belt soon, but didn't notice these others you mentioned.
1st Division quoted RM160 I think for timing belt kit, I'm not sure what other belts/parts are included in their kit. That is OEM, the original BMW kit is RM260 I think.

timing belt kit (i guess) it consist of timing belt, oil seals (4 units) and 'O' Ring.. but not sure of timing bearing.. timing bearing itself cost around RM75. Better call them and re-confirm.

If you plan to change timing belt, its better to change the oil seal bearing ('O' Ring) Oil seal and bearing also because it is part of the timing assembly. As for the other beltings like power steering, aircond etc.. thats depends on wear and tear.

Please do check with them what parts include in the Timing belt kit.

total cost + workmanship utk tuka timing belt set complete sebenarnya berapa ye?

since timing belt kit is RM160, workmanship around RM80 - 100
so better have budget RM300.

opsss satu lagi...since me never use a continental car...so the question would be....normally on what mileage should we must change the timing belt? ..mcm kete jepun jugak ke?

Just called First Div today to get a quote since I plan to change soon.

Timing belt (original BMW) - RM 210
Timing belt (OEM) - RM 70

Bearings, the small one RM 50, the bigger one RM 55.
But Munich Auto selling both together for RM 90.

Oil seal is RM 35.
