The story began when my buddy asked for an E30(m20b20 Jetronic) vs E30(m20b25 motronic) friendly drag, i smiled and politely agreed. Smile So, somewhere after the tol, we slam the accelerator and off we go, my eyes pop in disbelief when my friend's car literally "walked" passed me. my 2.5 lost to a 2.0 Jetronic? After some deepthoughts and Dunhill, i realised something is wrong with my car. This is so not cool, this is not logic! Heck, this defies the LAW OF PHYSICS!!

Off i went to my mech's place and explained the situation to him. finally, i've decided to change my ICV and crankshaft sensor. The reason im changing this item is because my idle is slightly erratic, and the crankshaft sensor because i tend to misfire at really high revs. Whenever i have the problem, i turned off the ignition and restart then everything will be fine.

After Rm670 + high hopes, it still misfire and idles the same. Sad
Ok, this is not cool, not cool at all. After seeking opinions from other mechs, and few hundred ringgit, i finally gave up and hated the car.

For 1 month or so, i drove the E30 slowly and prayed that everything's gonna be ok. (Ultimate Driving Machine? i dont think so) Crying or Very sad

on the evening of 22nd of March (today), i was fetching my friend to withdraw money from a bank in Bandar Putri Puchong, my problem before was actually intermittent, it occurs once in awhile, but today it got from bad to worse. No matter how many times i restart the car, the car just doesnt wanna idle properly and its impossible to drive safely, so after 20 crankings, the idle was abit better and drove to my mech's place which was just around the corner.

At the shop, my mech ask me to leave the car overnight as he will check it for me. The problem is, i dont have any transport left if i leave my car here. So off i went, taking the tools from my mech's shop as if i own the shop. poke here and there, spray contact cleaner to specific sockets.

I was at the verge of giving up and i saw the o2 socket which i havent spray with c.cleaner, so unscrew it while the engine was running with the fuel-starvation-irratic-idle condition, suddenly the engine settles down and i stoned for awhile, plug the o2 sensor socket back again, the idle went crazy again. I was Damn F8king happy and proud that my car's problem has finally solved. It was the o2 sensor that gave in. Still not convinced, i went for a test drive, take it to the rev limiter, the car pulls like a train and no misfire or fuel starvation! Finally, my E30's pride has been restored.

Brand New BMW ICV + Crankshaft Sensor = Rm670

countless opinions + website searches + LOTs of vulgar words = RM1XX + blood, sweat and tears

The moment that you solved the fucking problem yourself and able to screeh the tyres and hits the rev limiter O so many times without a fault = Fucking pricelessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!

Thx you for your attention and to those people who are facing similar symptoms like mine, i hope that this thread can solve it.
Happy revving!!
Chris
